Canadian Digital Adoption Plan (CDAP)
SMALL & MEDIUM-SIZED ENTERPRIESES CAN ACCESS UP TO $125,000 IN FUNDING TO TRANSFORM THEIR BUSINESS THROUGH TECHNOLOGY.
Doing business in the digital age just became a lot more affordable and accessible. The Government of Canada, as part of the 2021 federal budget, announced the Canada Digital Adoption Program (CDAP) with a total offering of $4 billion in total funding efforts.
The goal of the CDAP program is to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to meet the challenges of the digital age and to thrive in the digital world. Through the Canada Digital Adoption Program’s Boost Your Business Technology grant, you can get $15,000 in funding to work with Wingman Digital Advisory, your dedicated CDAP advisor. Plus, get access to up a $100,000 interest-free loan from BDC to implement your digital adoption roadmap and up to $7,300 hiring subsidy to support your implementation. On top of that, SME’s can access up to $2,400 Grow Your Business Online micro-grant for digital presence!

CDAP Grant Funding Streams

Through the CDAP program, SME’s have access to two main grant funding streams:.
Stream 1: Grow Your Business Online
- This grant of up to $2,400 is to help businesses enhance their digital e-commerce capabilities
- The CDAP Grow Your Business micro-grant helps SME’s:

- The CDAP Grow Your Business micro-grant helps SME’s:
- Connect with more customers through online channels
- Adopt new security software
- Improve social media marketing
- Improve user experience for online customers

Stream 2: Boost Your Business Technology Grant
- This grant of up to $15,000 allows businesses to consult with an approved CDAP Digital Advisor to receive a comprehensive Digital Adoption Plan to digitally transform their business. Each plan includes a market analysis, business assessment, and technology solution recommendations to help businesses remain competitive in their market.

- Reduce overhead costs
- Speed up transactions
- Respond to clients more quickly
- Manage inventory more efficiently
- Improve supply chain logistics
- And more…
Additional Funding Opportunities
After completion of the Boost Your Business program and approval of the final digital adoption plan (DAP), SME’s will get access to 2 additional funding opportunities:
BDC Interest Free Business Loan up to $100,000
- If you're ready to move forward on your digital adoption plan but you don’t have the necessary cashflow, BDC can help with a 0% interest loan of up to $100,000.
- Funds from the loan can be used towards:
- Acquiring IT equipment and software licenses
- Implementation of new technologies
- Updating and/or expanding IT infrastructure
- Training staff on onboarded technologies
- Materials and support services directly related to onboarding the technology
- Further advisory services on particular aspects of the digital adoption plan
Up to $7,300 Funded Work Placement Subsidy
- You can hire talented students or recent graduates to help your business achieve its digital adoption goals.
CDAP Eligibility Requirements
Is Your Business Eligible for the CDAP?
There are a few simple requirements for businesses seeking to apply for the grant:
Stream 1
Eligibility
- is a for-profit business (including for-profit social enterprises and co-operatives)
- is registered or incorporated
- is consumer-facing (sells goods and services directly to end consumers)
- has at least one employee (other than the owner) OR had at least $30,000 in annual revenue in the most recent tax year
Stream 2
Eligibility
- Your Business must have earned at least $500,000 of annual revenues – but not more than $100,000,000 – in at least one of the previous three tax years.
- Between 1-499 full-time equivalent employees. Part-time employees are pro-rated as a percentage of FTEs.
- Your business must be a for-profit entity.
- Your business must be incorporated federally or provincially, or be a sole-proprietor with a Canadian resident owner.
